Perks of Finding Your Clique!

When you finally find a group of people that you click with it is one of the most satisfying feelings ever. You become content with who you are and who you interact with, your confidence goes through the roof from being around such positive influences, and you feel liberated at being able to act like yourself. Students who are a part of positive friend groups are shown to become more successful later in life; not only socially but also in the work place as well. A study from the University of Orgeon interviewed adolescent students and asked them to name their three best friends. From the answers recored, those students who were successful within the classroom typically had friends who were also high achievers. Those students with low grades showed patterns of hanging around students who were known for misbehaving. When you have friends who are motivated to become successful it motivates you as well. This will never be seen as a bad thing!

Being in a positive clique establishes a place of belonging, a network of trust, higher self confidence and better social skills. But always remember, everyone needs a place to belong. If you see someone struggling to find their place at your school, help them out. Maybe ask them to lunch or to sit with you at the next football game; some people just need the extra push towards being more sociable with others. Always give everyone you meet and everyone who is new a chance to become friends!
